Bernard Charnwut CHAN

Bernard Chan is Chairman and President of Asia Financial Holdings Limited and Chairman of Asia Insurance Company Limited. He chairs the Hong Kong–Thailand Business Council, advises Bangkok Bank (China) and serves as Non-Executive Director of Bumrungrad Hospital Public Company.

He is Chairman of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Tai Kwun Culture & Arts Co. Ltd., Our Hong Kong Foundation, Hong Kong Chronicles Institute, Chairman of the ICAC Operations Review Committee and a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Pomona College and honorary degrees from Lingnan University, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Hong Kong Baptist University and Savannah College of Art and Design.

Appointed Justice of the Peace in 2002, he received the Gold Bauhinia Star (2006), Grand Bauhinia Medal (2020) and was made Commander of the Order of the Crown of Thailand (2004).
