About

Jane Halton is the Chair of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). She also serves on the Boards of Clayton Utz, and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

As former Secretary of both the Department of Health and Department of Finance in Australia, she has deep expertise in public policy, finance, health, and ageing. Internationally, she has held senior roles with the World Health Organization; she was President of the World Health Assembly, and chaired the OECD Health Committee.

She is an Honorary Professor at ANU and Adjunct Professor at the Universities of Sydney and Canberra. She has contributed significantly to public health, including tobacco control and communicable disease, and has received numerous honours including the Public Service Medal, Centenary Medal, Geneva Health Prize, and election to the US National Academy of Medicine.
