Sevda KILICALP

Head of Research & Learning, Philanthropy Europe Association (Philea)

Sevda started her professional journey in a philanthropy development organisation (TUSEV) two decades ago. 

Following this, she spent a year in Italy to do youth work. Upon her return to Türkiye, she managed advocacy and capacity building projects in a women’s organisation. 

She then went to Bologna to pursue a master’s study in philanthropic studies. Later, she worked in the representative office of the Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe for West-Central Asia and managed its grant portfolio. 

In 2011, she returned to TUSEV, as the director of social investment to strengthen the culture of giving in Türkiye. 

She co-founded a consultancy company called Solution Space. 

She pursued a doctoral degree in philanthropic studies at the Indiana University. She joined the EFC in 2019 to manage its networks, and global exchange programmes. 

She currently runs two connected teams (research and peer learning) at Philea.
