Juliana BUSASI
Juliana is a medical doctor turned health tech entrepreneur.
Raised by her grandparents, Juliana witnessed her clinician grandfather come from work every evening to attend to neighbors who could not afford hospital care.
This experience inspired her to not only become a doctor but also to improve the lives of underserved communities through healthcare.
Her journey began in 2015 when she founded TAHMEF as a medical student to bridge socioeconomic gaps limiting access to quality healthcare services among Tanzanians working in informal sectors, youth, and rural poor Indigenous communities.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Juliana pivoted to adopting digital technology to sustain and scale her impact, which has tripled annually and continues to grow.
TAHMEF’s flagship product, AHADI, is Tanzania’s first digital mental healthcare facility, addressing both access and stigma challenges with a strong focus on supporting youth.
