Chief Executive Officer, Lever for Change

Cecilia Conrad is the founder and CEO of Lever for Change, and a senior advisor at the MacArthur Foundation. 

Lever for Change connects donors with problem solvers, influencing over $2.2 billion in grants and supporting more than 175 organizations.

Previously, Conrad led the MacArthur Fellows program. Recognized by The Nonprofit Times, she is among the top 50 most powerful women in U.S. philanthropy. An Emerita Professor of Economics at Pomona College, she also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean. 

Her work in racial and gender equity earned her the Samuel V. Westerfield Award and the Women of Power Award. 

She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University.
