Brieuc VAN DAMME

CEO, King Baudouin Foundation

Since 1 May 2022, Brieuc Van Damme is the CEO of the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF). 

He holds a Master's Degree in Economics (KU Leuven and College of Europe) and teaches health economics at the University of Brussels. Previously, he taught at the École Nationale d’Administration de Kinshasa, DR Congo. 

He is also the author of the book "The Grey Gold" (2010) and various reports, opinions and articles in scientific papers.

Brieuc Van Damme was co-founder and president of the Friday Group, a think tank of talented young Belgians, supported by the KBF.

From 2011 to 2020, he was successively Health Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health, and COVID-19 Advisor to the Prime Minister.

During a Norwegian break from 2017 to 2020, Brieuc Van Damme founded a boutique consulting firm which manages a portfolio of international clients.

From December 2020 to January 2022, he was Director General of the Belgian public health insurance administration.

Brieuc is a board member of Myriad USA (NY), Philea (Brussels) and Give2Asia (San Francisco).
