About

Budi Gunadi Sadikin is the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Appointed in 2020 and reappointed in 2024, he led Indonesia's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing a massive vaccination programme. Under his leadership, the Ministry has prioritised preventative healthcare, expanded genomic surveillance, integrated digital health systems, and bolstered domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing. Following his reappointment, he launched Indonesia’s landmark free health screening initiative targeting over 70 million citizens.

He served as Vice Minister I of State-Owned Enterprises and led the National Economic Recovery Task Force. His distinguished corporate career spans over three decades, including senior roles at IBM Asia-Pacific and major financial institutions, as well as President Director of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. Globally, he serves on the board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and co-chairs the TB Vaccine Accelerator Council.
