About PBC
Wang Ming received his Ph.D. from Nagoya University in Japan. He is currently a professor at the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University and serves as the Founding Dean of the Institute for Philanthropy at Tsinghua University.
He was a member of the 10th, 11th, and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Dedicated to research on non-governmental organisations and philanthropy for nearly 3 decades, he published over 20 books and is an author of more than 100 academic papers. His major works include China’s NGO Reform: From the Governmental Choice to Societal Choice, Emerging Civil Society in China, 1978-2008, Proposals from Wang Ming: a Member of CPPCC National Committee, and Social Organizations.
He has received honours such as the Public Welfare Thought Award at the 2013 Responsible China ceremony and the 28th Academic Prize of the Fukuoka Prize (2017).
