About

Cheryl Chui’s scholarship covers three lines of research inquiries: the interface between policy, social innovation, social entrepreneurship, and ecosystem-building; the organisational mechanisms of nonprofits, social enterprises and social businesses in empowering older adults, people with disabilities, and marginalised women; and the advancement of novel community development models through innovative participatory research methods to promote age-friendly and inclusive cities.

She is currently leading several capacity-building initiatives in the nonprofit and social innovation ecosystem in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area, and beyond, which are funded by several charities trust and private foundations. Her works in these areas have been extensively published in high impact journals. She is also an Associate Editor to Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, and International Journal of Social Welfare, a consulting member and advisor to several nonprofits and social enterprises, and regularly contributes to knowledge exchange activities in international and local settings.
